“And suddenly you see
A city in the sun and all the lights,
And you fill your lungs…”
(Janko Glazer, local poet)
At the foot of Pohorje hills, on the banks of the river Drava, in the heart of the Slovenian wine growing region, a city of approximately 100.000 inhabitants is looking forward to your visit. We invite you to discover Maribor, the second largest city in Slovenia, which this year celebrates 850 years since its first mentioning. Its oldest inhabitant, Stara trta – the Old Vine, is listed in the Guinness World Records book as the oldest vine in the world and still giving wine.
Maribor’s industry, which was very important for the development of the city, has nearly vanished leaving place for a cultural development that gives and leaves the city a permanent mark. The European Capital of Culture in 2012 aroused the blooming of even more cultural events in the city and the travel agency AGENCIJA M, with its more than 20 years experience, would like to introduce you not only to the natural and architectural heritage of our city, but also to the city’s cultural side.

Join over half a million satisfied visitors who every year go “lenting”on the banks of the river Drava. The festival attracts theatre, opera and ballet performers, classical, modern, and jazz musicians and folklore dancers from all over the world.
You take pleasure in good classical concerts? The unique music festival Festival Maribor, focusing on Baroque styles in its beginnings and gradually extending its repertoire to post-modern transformations, brings forth a fresh and new energy.
